My therapy room is on the ground floor and is fully accessible. There is however a small step leading into the room, so please let me know if you need a ramp.
The door is wide enough for a large wheelchair, however unfortunately there is not a wheelchair-accessible bathroom on the premises. If you have any other accessibility requirements please let me know.
About psychotherapy
Therapy can help you make sense of what you are feeling about difficulties you are experiencing in your life.
As your therapist, I can provide a safe environment in which you will be able to talk freely and openly about feelings which aren’t always understood by family and friends.
During therapy you can learn how to cope with your feelings, set appropriate boundaries and experience a growing resilience.
Whatever you are experiencing, processing or aiming to understand about your life, individual psychotherapy can be a life-changing experience.
What is Psychotherapy and how will it help?
We will begin by having an introductory session to see if you feel comfortable talking to me, then we can decide together to continue with weekly sessions. We can discuss whether you would like to have an open-ended number of sessions, or if you would like to have time-limited therapy. At this initial session we will begin with what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the experience. You can also ask me any questions about the process, and we can begin to establish a therapeutic relationship.
If we decide to continue our work together, we will spend the subsequent sessions exploring your life so I can gain a deeper understanding of who you are. I am likely to ask about your significant life experiences, relationships and your background.
In talking together, we have an opportunity to explore, reflect upon and understand more fully how and why you feel the way you do.
What to expect in a Psychotherapy session
Therapy is most effective with the commitment of regular sessions between you and your therapist– normally once a week.
There is no time frame that is expected in Psychotherapy, and I can provide short or long-term work.
